This is YOUNGER 'Mishras' Music.
A Visual treat to watch also.
Graceful presentation of
Raag Miyan ki malhar
Wonderful rendition.
Pranaam to the legends,
Rajan Mishra & Sajan Mishra.
"There is no raga like Miyan Malhar in Carnatic. As answered before, it can be a mix of Kaapi and Kaanada.
One more interesting thing though. There is a substitute for a ‘Rain raaga’ in Carnatic, that is, Amritavarshini.
Hence, it can be safely be said that the equivalent of Miyan Malhar is Amritavarshini- not in terms of the notes used or the chalan but the overall gist and feel of the raagas are comparable. Both raagas invoke rain.
Just like it is believed that Miyan Tansen used to bring rain by singing Miyan Malhar, Carnatic composer Muthuswami Dikshitar brought rain to Ettayapuram, Tamil Nadu, India by singing his composition, Aanandaamrutakarshini Amrutavarshini."
